When drains and sewer lines backup its very frustrating. There are different reasons for clogs. Mainline sewer its roots, grease, femanine hygene products, in smaller lines like lavatory sinks, tubs and showers its usually hair and soap buildup. In kitchen sinks, mostly it is food from the disposal and grease, these are the most common reasons for backups in a house today.

Many of the countless pipes beneath our Chittenden County homes and streets are very old. Though very durable–typically made of cast iron or terra cotta–these structures are not invulnerable to disruption caused by exterior sources.

Lose the Corrosion

Metal pipe systems corrode over time leading to multiple leaks, failing joints, poor water pressure, rusty or discolored water, and the potential for major flooding. Plastic Pex re-piping not only solves these problems but helps prevent them in the future by upgrading your potable water system to modern plastic pipe materials.

What is the Re-Piping Process?

  1. Water System Diagnosis
Your hot and cold water system is inspected to assess the level of repairs needed as well as the layout of your pipe system. Using this information, our technicians outline which pipes need to be replaced and the least invasive plan to carry out those replacements.
  2. Re-piping
The pipes under your home that need to be replaced are removed. Small sections of drywall from the flooring up to the faucets of defective pipe are cut away and the pipes removed. Pex pipe is then installed in place of the defective pipe.
  3. Repair Restoration
Areas where walls have been disturbed or impacted are repaired. Drywall is patched and prepared so that it is in a paint-ready condition.

What are the Benefits of Pipe Replacement?

  • Modernizes Your Drinking Water Pipes
While copper pipe has been the choice of plumbers for generations, modern pipe systems are now made with flexible Pex pipe which can not only bend and is quicker and cheaper to install, but also doesn't have the natural corrosive properties of metal pipe.
  • Improves Water Quality
Corrosion leads to heavy metals leaching into your drinking water system and these effects begin very shortly after installation. By upgrading to plastic pipe you can not only avoid the repair issues that come with metal pipe but also enjoy cleaner water.
  • Improves Water Pressure
Corrosive leaching isn't just bad for you, it's bad for your water pressure. Sediment from the corrosive process clogs aerators and reduces water pressure causing a maintenance nightmare or worse. With non-corrosive pipe material your water system will flow smoother over time.
